USC Recycled almost 4,000 Tons of Refuse in 2009.
On average, 33% of the materials found in trash cans, dumpsters, and bins on campus are eventually recovered and recycled.
When it comes to construction and debris, 69% of the 560 tons created on our campuses in 2009 is completely recycled. Furthermore, 630 tons of materials are recovered and recycled in dedicated recycling bins. This is about 8% of the total waste stream, which totaled more than 7,700 tons in 09'.
