The Purpose of this Report
• Provide the public with a detailed report that leads to a better understanding of USC’s greenhouse gas emissions profile
• Set the stage for innovation by providing better access to more detailed energy use and greenhouse emissions information
• Further establish sustainably-minded institutional transparency and leadership
USC’s GHG emissions originate from five distinct sources: vehicles (i.e., gasoline and diesel), stationary combustion (e.g., emergency generators and fire pumps), refrigerants, natural gas, and electricity. The majority of these emissions are a result of electricity use and natural gas combustion.
